-----O-----

Through the years people have often spoken to me of how their knowledge of the gospel and faith in Christ is so much more than it was when they confessed Christ in baptism, that they wonder if they really knew Him at that time. My friends, as the new born infant, if it has life, breathes; then announces the fact by crying. So the new born child of God, believes and announces the fact by baptism. Where that life is nourished by the word of the gospel, it grows to maturity. ( Eph. 4:11-15; 1 Pet. 2:2-3) And, as the mature man hardly resembles the infant state, even so it is with the Child of God. Faith may and will change in degree in proportion to the knowledge of Christ and the gospel of His grace---but the life is the same! Christ Jesus is our life and He never changes

A man once asked, "Which is more important, orthodoxy or obedience?" A Gospel preacher replied, "I am surprised you would seperate the two because the Scriptures place them in a vital union that cannot be seperated. To have truth without obedience is dead faith. To have obedience without truth is dead works."
He who attempts to stress Christian living by disparaging Christian doctrine is guilty of most serious blunder. He neglects the important fact that Christian living is rooted in Christian doctrine.
